Since we are little kids we have been taught that smoking is bad for us and being near to smokers is also bad for us. But do we know to what extent how bad smoking is actually is? Whether it is tobacco, e-stick, or nicotine it is still bad for our bodies. Even if you can’t see the effect now, you will definitely see the effect in the next couple of years or maybe you will see the effect on your family members like your children or your wife.
Most of the time smoking can affect our body in terms of long-term conditions, we will get several medical conditions. Here are some of the reasons why smoking is definitely bad for our bodies and why you should stop immediately.
Central nervous system
Our body system is related to our brain and our brain is what controls the movement of our body. Having a lot of nicotine in our system can affect the central nervous system. It will affect our mood and our energy, where we can feel energize and hyped up, and then the next minute we can be exhausted. Nicotine can also leads to addiction where we will be craving the taste of it constantly.
Respiratory
Inhaling smoke is not good for our lungs especially when we keep on inhaling smoke that is being mixed with multiple chemicals. There are plenty of lung diseases that we can get just from smoking. For example, asthma, lung cancer, infection, and chronic bronchitis.
Cardiovascular
Nicotine is a chemical that does not belong in our body because it can bring tons of diseases to us. One of them is at our heart area, the main organ that is keeping us alive and breathing. Not only it can lead us to have blood pressure but it will also weaken our blood vessels and having a weak and small blood vessel can lead to stroke, heart attack, and artery diseases.
Skin, hair, and nails
We can easily spot someone that smokes through their skin and hair condition. Most of the time people that are heavy smokers will have dehydrated and tight skin, we can see that their skin is not healthy and glowy like other people. Not only that but they will also experience early hair loss and balding. Imagine being early 20 and you are already struggling with extreme hair loss and balding.
Digestive
The organs that are related to our digestives systems are our pancreas, stomach, liver, and kidney. There are many types of cancer that we can develop just by smoking and inhaling the smoke. Even though there is medicine for liver cirrhosis in Malaysia, it is still better for us to prevent it rather than curing it.
Sexual and reproductive
If we are planning to have a family of our own we should definitely stop the smoking habit. This is because all of the chemicals from the smoke can affect our reproductive systems. It can affect the health of the sperms and for women, it can affect the quality of the eggs.
These are only some of the small effects of smoking, there are many more reasons why smoking is bad for us physically, mentally, and also emotionally.
